Grading

Quarterly grades are based on a point system with the following components:

  • Homework= 2-5 points per assignment; opportunity to correct for full credit
  • Classwork = 5-10 points per assignment; opportunity to correct for full credit
  • Quizzes = 40-50 points
  • Unit Tests* = 100 points

*No re-dos on summative assessments

  • First semester grade (S1) = 40% Q1 + 40% Q2 + 20% Mid-Term Exam Grade
  • Second semester grade (S2) = 40% Q3+ 40% Q4 + 20% Final Exam Grade

**Students must achieve an average of 85 or above for S1 and S2 in order to be placed in Honors Geometry in grade nine.
