Grade 7 English Language Arts
Course Description
Through the exploration of various literary genres, students will continue to strengthen their reading and writing skills in the 7th grade. Our classroom will be a forum where students will read, study, and discuss characters and events that both illustrate similarities, as well as sometimes great differences, from what they have experienced in literature and in real life in the past. Students will be encouraged to make connections, ask questions, and present opinions with evidence on a daily basis. In addition, students will receive writing instruction and assignments frequently throughout the year, with an emphasis on narrative and argumentative writing.
